much of the journey would be about mindset.

When I first started my business, I had no idea how much of the journey would be about mindset. I thought success was all about strategy, hard work, and maybe a little bit of luck. But as time went on, I realized that the biggest changes in my business didn’t come from learning the latest marketing tricks or following a perfect blueprint—they came from shifting my mindset.
If you’re feeling stuck or unsure about your next step, I want to share the five key mental shifts that transformed my business journey. These changes didn’t happen overnight, but each one brought me closer to building the business—and the life—I had always dreamed of.
EMBRACING PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION
In the beginning, I was paralysed by perfectionism. Every blog post, email, and product launch had to be flawless before I put it out into the world. But that mindset was holding me back. I spent so much time tweaking and re-tweaking that I wasn’t making real progress.
Then one day, I heard the phrase, “Done is better than perfect.” It hit me like a lightning bolt. I realised that waiting for perfection was just another form of procrastination. I started focusing on progress instead—taking small, consistent steps toward my goals. And guess what? My audience didn’t care if everything was perfect. They cared that I was showing up, sharing value, and being real.
When I let go of the need for perfection, I started to see real momentum. I learned that growth happens when you take action, even if it’s a little messy.
SHIFTING FROM SCARCITY TO ABUNDANCE
For a long time, I operated from a scarcity mindset. I worried that if I didn’t hustle hard enough, I’d miss out. I compared myself to others who seemed more successful and feared there wasn’t enough space for me.
But living in that scarcity mindset drained my energy and kept me in a cycle of fear. It wasn’t until I started focusing on abundance that things began to change. I realised that there’s enough success, enough opportunity, and enough space for everyone.
When I stopped seeing other people as competition and started seeing them as inspiration, my whole perspective shifted. I began to collaborate, learn, and grow in ways I never thought possible. Abundance opened the door to new possibilities—and that mindset continues to guide me today.
TRUSTING MYSELF AND MY INSTINCTS
In the early days, I looked outside myself for all the answers. I followed every expert, and read every book. But the truth is, no one knows your vision, your audience, and your goals better than youdo.
It took me a while to trust myself, but once I did, everything changed. I learned to listen to my instincts and make decisions that felt right for my business. Yes, I still take advice and learn from others, but I no longer second-guess every decision.
Trusting yourselfdoesn’t mean you’ll never make mistakes—it means you’ll have the confidence to learn, adjust, and keep going. And that’s where true growth happens.
SEEING FAILURE AS FEEDBACK
I used to be terrified of failure. I thought that if something didn’t work out, it meant I wasn’t cut out for this journey. But that fear kept me from taking the risks that could have propelled me forward.
One of the biggest mental shifts I made was learning to see failure as feedback. Every misstep, every “no,” and every setback became a lesson. I realised that failure isn’t the opposite of success—it’s part of the process.
When I started viewing failure as an opportunity to learn and grow, I stopped fearing it. I became more resilient, more adaptable, and more willing to take bold action. And guess what? The more risks I took, the more I learned—and the closer I got to the results I wanted.
FOCUSSING ON IMPACT OVER INCOME
In the beginning, I was so focused on making money that I forgot why I started my business in the first place. I was chasing numbers instead of focusing on the impact I wanted to make.
When I shifted my focus toserving my audience and creating real value, everything changed. I stopped stressing about hitting revenue goals and started asking, “How can I help? How can I solve a problem? How can I make someone’s life better?”
Ironically, when I put impact first, the income followed. People can sense when you genuinely care, and that trust translates into loyalty, support, and yes—sales.
These five mental shifts didn’t just transform my business—they transformed me. They taught me to trust myself, embrace imperfection, and focus on making a difference. If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, remember that mindset is often the missing piece.
Take small steps, trust the process, and believe that success is possible. You have everything you need to build the business—and the life—you’ve been dreaming of.
